Genovese's Pizzeria - Vonore

I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but when I arrived, I found a sign on the door saying they were closed because they didn't have enough staff.

The food is incredible, the owners are fantastic, and the young lady at the cash register is not only beautiful but also has a wonderful personality. I'm definitely convinced—I will be returning many more times! Great job all around!

I stopped by today and was met with sweltering heat—95 degrees outside and at least 85 inside. The interior was quite dark, with half the lights turned off, making it hard to see how the staff could prepare food in all those shadows. The pizza slices on display looked old and unappealing, so I opted for a cheesesteak sandwich instead. The sandwich itself was decent, but when I went to add some condiments, they were old and had crusted tops. The cheese was also congealed. Overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed.

I had the chance to try this restaurant once, and it was quite enjoyable. My only issue is with their hours of operation. They close early and aren't open in the evenings, which is a bit inconvenient. They should take into account that many people work and would love to try their food, especially during dinner time.

This restaurant truly delivers the authentic New York flavor of Italian cuisine. Having lived just 40 miles from the city and grown up with my grandmother's recipes, I can confidently say the food is fantastic. It's definitely worth a visit! They also offer takeout. The owners are great, too!
