La Giara - VIZZINI

Every time I visit Vizzini, I eat at La Giara multiple times. Whether it is lunch or dinner, the food is fresh and cooked to order. The food represents the local Sicilian cuisine with local fresh ingredients. Every time I eat there, I am greeted by the owners who are always there running the establishment themselves. They are happy to recommend the daily special which changes depending on the fresh catch/delivery of the day. People who complain about the inconsistency of the menu are obviously not used to Sicilian food/menu choices. It always changes and certain things may not always be available. All ingredients are from local food sources and are not shipped from afar. Depends on your viewpoint, this may be a good or a bad thing. For me, it is great because I understand that everything is FRESH!!! Salvatore will always recommend something depending on your likes and dislikes....The antipasto is the best around..that is served buffet style. You get to sample all sorts of Sicilian specialties...eggplant, artichoke, olives, mushrooms, peppers....etc...all locally grown. And this is just the beginning... FOR A TRUE SICILIAN EXPERIENCE, DON'T PASS THIS RESTAURANT UP, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!

Went a couple of times, great solo lunch served up buffet style, wonderful selection of foods and well worth a return trip. The evening return trip was disappointing, food came out late, and not served at the same time for all guests, seafood platter quantity and quality was not up to Buffet lunch standards.
