La Paloma - Vista

Great food and good service. They offer daily deals that are crazy cheap. Worth a look with a tight pocketbook and looking for a good meal. They offer coupons on their web site, too!

I have been going to La Paloma for over 20 years. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. You will be pleasantly pleased with the wide array of food on the menu... my fav is the Camarones con Pollo Cilantro..... the girls have been there since I've been going and are ALWAYS on top of things. These people who wrote the bad reviews must be exaggerating. You will LOVE this place!!! A

Two work associates told my husband how great this place is so we decided to have a nice lunch on our day off. The atmosphere is inviting once you walk in and our waitress was immediately there to seat us. We faced the patio, which would be great on a warm summer day, and had a couple margaritas. He had the lobster enchiladas, which had hearty chunks of lobster in every bite, and I ordered a spicy cilantro shrimp/chicken. Both were excellent and every bit of it was served fresh and hot. Our waitress was very attentive and even gave us a mini-tour of the place after our meal because we were impressed but its authentic decor. Way better than Crazy Burro or chain Mexican restaurants. Bring your friends for happy hour, and ask for Peggy!

I lived in North County for 9 years and La Paloma was my favorite place to dine. Now I live at the foot of the Rockies in Colorado. Every trip I make (and that's a couple per year) to California, I make my way down the coast to enjoy an evening at La Paloma. Try the Relleno De Pato (duck relleno) or the Ostrich Vaquero. The menu is a delight every restaurant can have a customer with a bad experience but in 15 years (six out of state), I can only rave about my experience with La Paloma. ENJOY!!!

We went to La Paloma for dinner on a Friday night. The appetizers were cold, mixed drinks did not contain any liquor (especially the margaritas) and the food was cold even though the dinner plate was hot. The waitress seemed annoyed when we requested the food be sent back to the kitchen to get hot. When it was finally served the second time the food was quite good. But, because of the waitress' poor service and demeanor we will not go there again.
