Sandbridge Sugar Shack - Virginia Beach

At 7:30 on a Monday night, we arrived at the restaurant to find about 40 people ahead of us in line. We were finally served at 8:45, and the line in the parking lot had only grown longer. A sign on the door stated that they close around 8:30, so I hoped everyone would be served. Inside, there were 3 kids working hard to serve customers as quickly as possible. The ice cream offered was Hershey's, and the chocolate raspberry truffle flavor was incredibly rich. The single scoops were massive and overflowed the cones. Just one scoop was plenty.

Great service!! The young lady helping us was extremely helpful, outgoing, and great with the kids. She could read their minds on what they may like. On top of it all, her helpfulness kept the line quickly moving. I?m not sure how you all found her, but anyplace should be striving for her work ethic! Oh yeah, the ice cream was delicious too.

After visiting this restaurant, I was left with a very unpleasant taste in my mouth. Upon entering, we were not greeted but instead overheard an employee complaining loudly about a customer who didn't leave a tip. The employee then went on to make a disparaging remark about older people not tipping, with both of my parents present in the store. She continued to vent about her low pay and how customers needed to understand her situation. It was a very uncomfortable experience and really ruined our evening.

Looks like not much and is plain and simple inside but the gals were friendly and easily made recommendations and let us taste some of the ice cream flavors. REALLY good ice cream and huge portions. We got one scoop which was actually like a giant bowl and 5 people shared it. Love the outdoor seating and live music on weekends! Tons of flavors and cones. They even had a mermaid cone you can get for the kiddos (or adults) if you want!

Extremely friendly staff! Our party had absolutely no complaints about anything. Superb quality Hershey's ice cream. Definitely worth checking out.
