Le Shanghai - Villeneuve-lès-Béziers

Whenever we have visitors who are vegans , vegetariens , carnivores , picky eaters or friends who , like us eat everything , then this is where we head for . It's impossible to please all your family friends with a buffet at home , but at the Shanghai there is something for everyone no matter what they like as the choice is so amazing ! We come here regularly have never had a guest who went home hungry or disappointed at the superb buffet . I think it works out cheaper to bring your guests here , rather than try to please everyone at your home spend a fortune loads of time preparing clearing up afterwards . The restaurant opens at 11.45 I reccomend you get there early as it is very popular people often have to wait for a table to become vacant . Luckily it is airconditioned , as recently we have had a heatwave in France no one has an appetite when it is too hot . My favourites are the nems samosas with the lovely fresh bean sprout salads , the hot spicy prawns with noodles or fried rice . The hoisin duck the tender beef onions or sweet sour chicken are also a delight .I keep meaning to try the freshly made wok but never seem to get round to it with all the delicious ready made choices . The icecreams are delicious as are the fresh fruits , profiterolles , nougat , peanut brittles .There is even bread , butter , cheese , paté , chips ,sea snails etc . The service is rapid , friendly professional . Our waiter waitress both spoke excellent English and Chinese to my nieces who have just come back from one years schooling in China . The red white house wines are sold cheaply by the jug there is a good selection of alcoholic non alcoholic cocktails , beers sodas etc. It is a place my husband I think of often when having guests to entertain , reasonable excellent . We highly recommend .

This is a help yourself buffet of all things oriental. Go hungry. You can start with sushi and Chinese cold starters. You can then have your choice of fish, meat and vegetables which are cooked while you wait by a very skilled guy using a high temperature wok. There are lots of different deserts to choose from, but I've never managed more than some fresh fruit after so much food. This is a very popular restaurant at lunchtime and we've never seen it quiet. That said, it is a large restaurant so you can always get a table.

We had been here a couple of years ago and had a good meal. We went last week again and as well as the selection of nems, samoussas, beignets, prepared chinese main courses and salads there is now a good selection of very fresh Sushi available, attractively presented and very fresh. The wok cooking is very good indeed with a comprehensive array of fresh ingredients available to choose from fresh raw prawns; squid; poultry and meats and chinese mushrooms and fresh vegetables. A good selection of sauces to choose from for the chef to cook your food and it was ultra fresh and tasty.

Wow. Very well stored. There's nothing missing. It's for all tastes. friendly and welcoming staff. special mention to the mr that prepares hot dishes at the minute. He's adorable and always smiling.
