Au Vieux Fort - Ville Lambert

We have been to this restaurant 3 times over the past 2 years. Not that many times but it is at a fair driving distance from our residence. First, the place is in an old historical building. I just can’t resist their Scampi cooked with pastis. They are just amazing. Entrées are great, so is the fish and all type of meat. We have been there as couple but also with friends and we all loved it. It is on the pricy side but so worth it.

My wife and four friends recently had lunch here. We were warmly welcomed at the door by the owner, Mme MacDuff and escorted to our table. All of us ordered the soup which was excellent and each of us had a different entrée. I ordered the wapiti which I had never ordered before. At the suggestion of the server, I ordered it rare and found it to be very tender with a complementary maple based sauce. The included dessert, chocolate mousse is one of my favorites.We found the server to be cordial and very helpful and gave us an appropriate amount of time as we were a group of six and wished to socializeThough my wife and I consider this restaurant one of our favorites and often come for our wedding anniversary, I found this meal to be particularly good

Wow! Nous sommes allés pour la première fois au Vieux Fort hier soir. Nous étions agréablement surpris! Les saveurs et présentations étaient vraiment impressionnantes. Ils font tout maison et tout est fait à la minute, ça parait! Le service impeccable de Marie-Claude a bien complété notre belle soirée! Merci! Nous y retournerons!

We went to the Vieux Fort last Saturday night with our family. We had reservations for 7:30 and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was very nice and clean it's an old rustic style. The service was excellent, a good reasonable wine list and a lot of good choices on the menu. My brother in law and I ordered the large beef chop for , two, and it was excellent, my sister in law ordered the fish with almonds and she enjoyed it. My wife and daughter had the langoustine which they enjoyed very much .I saw all the plates leave the table cleaned, and it's not because the portions were small it was because everyone enjoyed everything our appetizers and dessert was also great. This is one of the best restaurants that we have eaten at in a long time and we will certainly go back!!! Robert Brown

C'est vrai que ça fait 2-3 ans, mais on se souvient. Bon, service bien. Très bel endroit. On adore le Vieux Laprairie.
