Punk's Place - Village of Candor

Good is delicious and price is reasonable. Service is friendly and good! It is a local, small town pub and I enjoy it when I go there.

Visiting from out of town we were looking for a place to play pool. So glad we found this place, staff was super friendly and they had a great brand playing as well! I wish we had this bar in our hometown

We come here pretty often and the food is always really good. The steaks, the broccoli and the pizza are some personal favorites. Drinks are a screaming deal too. This place is doing a really good job.

As a pub-going Englishman it's important to have a local and Punk's Place is just that. A nice family owned and run establishment just off route 96 in Candor NY. There's an extensive menu along with daily specials, and so far I haven't been disappointed. Punk's also has a good selection of beers, both local and international and a range of spirits to rival any pub anywhere. I've always found the service to be great and must assume that the negative reviews were on an off-day.

The menu is fantastic and if you are lucky enough to get the guy who is a regular cook to make your food for you, it will be great. However, if you get the girl cook who works in pajama 's believe it or not, you won 't be so fortunate. She constantly over cooks food. I have had a hamburger (Punk 's Burger) 3 times from her and instead of medium medium rare, it was well done every time. I even tried steak and again she over cooked it. She definitely needs training. Bartenders appear to be okay except sometimes in the evening, if you get one who is moody, you won 't get good service at all. They will walk right by you when you have an empty bottle (or glass). Certainly not good for making money for the owner. I would either majorly train these employees or get rid of a couple of them as they are costing the bar money for sure and obviously don 't care. The place is nicely done and obviously a lot of work went into it to make it look like it does. If you get the right cook and the right bartender, you will have a very good experience, otherwise, forget it.
