Root Vine - Vila Nova de Gaia

A fantastic vegetarian meal, highly recommend. Great vegan options as well. Wonderful, friendly staff. Freshly made, super flavour combinations. We'll come back if ever in Porto.

All looked pretty but taste was bland, and for a couple of dishes, they were awful. Tempura prawns and cauliflower tempura batter was like stodge. I lived in Japan trust me. In fact the equivalent dish even on the Algarve was 100% better. Curry was just disgusting. And least said about the Bao bun fillings the better. Service was friendly, but the bill was still the same despite our gross disappointment with the meal.

We went with friends here the other night. Convenient to our hotel, but below average meal. I did have salmon rolls that were the best among us, but no one else had a meal that met expectations. The service was beyond slow and we had a terrible time trying to communicate but candidly it wouldn’t have mattered.

We had excellent drinks (white sangria), amazing food: sea bass, salmon, risotto, Wellington, Poke Bowl, Portobello and sweet potato.

Incredible food and as a note, I am not a vegetarian.
