Toledo Lounge - Victoria Park

He rides past here on the way to work and has mentioned it before so we thought we'd give it a try. We booked through zomato - no hassles, the table was ready when we got there. The menu is inviting and it's hard to choose so we went with a drink first, a jug of Raspberry Tequila. It was that or the white sangria they had on the table beside us that looked amazing! We munched on sliced almonds and the tortilla and Brie with jamon and manchego (my second favourite). Our next round of choices was the meatballs (his favourite), ensaladilla russa and three beans with chorizo (my favourite). The service was excellent and fast. The restaurant was not too busy but there was a big table for 20ish and the staff still maintained good service to us. If I had the chance to make a suggestion I'd say some live music of the Spanish type would add a great touch. A nice experience and fabulous value for money ($89).

I have been curious about Toledo Lounge for quite a while, having driven past it many, many times, but those reflective glass windows were off-putting to me  - so reflective that I could never even tell if the place was open or not. Finally checked it out last week and it was a nice experience. A good variety of tapas options to choose from, reasonably priced, and they were mostly winners (my only negative - I thought the meatballs were just a tad dry inside).  Food & drinks overall above average, so I would have rated 3.5, but the wonderful service we got from start to finish elevates it to a 4.

Have really enjoyed eating here. It has a really great local feel and the dishes are just the right size and very tasty. I had the most amazing salad here on night. Exceptional. Sangria is potent.
