Even though it was in the outskirts of the city in Victoria Park, this little cafe had a very Melbourne vibe to it, probably because there was a wait to get in! ...Read full post on monsadventure.com
Thumbs-up for the food and drinks here. From coffees to pastries, sandwiches and breakfast plates, they're all prepared well. We love trying their new dishes whenever they change their seasonal menu. Was back recently to try their Honeycomb Tripe and Beef Short Ribs. Honeycomb Tripe is nice, provided you're a tripe lover. I do love beef tripes, and find this a good dish but not a stand-out. However, beef short ribs is sensational! Tender, flavoursome; and with mushrooms on the side, we just couldn't get enough of them! Love their red long black coffee too, unique taste but very pleasant. A few must-try: almond croissants, muffins and pulled pork sandwich. Muffins are exceptionally light & fluffy, and not too sweet.
Ooh this was a good one! We came here on a Sunday morning. It was a tight little space that was packed to the brim with customers. I ordered the Smoked Ocean Trout with creamed cauliflower and sourdough. The creamy cauliflower was sensational- it may have even been slighty too rich. The ocean trout was amazing and smoky. The sourdough was lovely and crusty.
So much deliciousness in everything at this cafe, from the rich roast coffee to the stuffed almond croissants and the fluffy goats cheese omelette. It's a shame it's so small as it can feel very cramped and you will always have a wait even for take away coffee but if you have the time it's worth it.
I had some cauliflower magic concoction here the other day. So good! They have a changing menu since lots of ingredients are sourced locally. Their matcha options are pretty good for anyone riding the end of this green powdery bandwagon.
