The Village Taverna - Victoria

I have been eating Eugene/Terry/Lee,s food for over 35 years and it is still in my top 3 favorite to eat of all time and i eat out alot! Don,t screw around , just get the gyros and spanikopita you will not be dissapointed.

Came her for lunch a few weeks back and shared the platter for one with my daughter. The food was delicious....best calamari I've had in a while.

I've ordered take out from here and it was so amazing! Some of the best Greek food. It also was ready within less then 15 minutes of ordering which was amazing! I can't wait to go for a sit down meal at the restaurant.

PROS:<br/ Nice atmosphere<br/ Fresh food, good Greek standards that you want to see<br/ Really good tzatziki portions and a side of tzatziki is reasonably priced<br/ Items under $10 are priced well and good value<br/ My partner had a lamb souvlaki platter. It was everything you would expect and they were happy to eat it. <br/ The servers are attentive once you are sat. <br/ The food is tasty and they have some menu items that general Victoria people have not seen at a Greek restaurant (tomato fritters yum)<br/ <br/ CONS:<br/ So many servers running around and no one pays attention to the growing line at the door. 'Someone will be with you shortly ' goes a long way with a hangry line up. <br/ I had the moussaka platter. The moussaka itself was tasty but it was waaaaay too small for paying $16.95. They call it a 'platter ' and you get moussaka, greek salad and a few extra olives. No pita, no dips, no rice. The word 'platter ' and the price would indicate some extras or a larger main portion.<br/ <br/ Overall, pretty good. I would go back and try it again.

Outstanding new Greek restaurant in Cook St Village! They accommodated a big group of us for a bday. Food was excellent and the atmosphere was tastefully done. I'll be a regular!
