Bidrage med feedbackWe'd been here before since our 2014 move from Ontario, and this pub has had many years as a "go-to" for their Tuesday $8 special for a one pound serving. Printed menu suggests 14 wings in serving so you know they are not especially meaty. On this visit, both of us were greatly disappointed: overcooked, to ultra-crispy state, neither habanero nor Cajun had any detectable flavor. Neither did the chicken, for that matter. I used two napkins to soak up the copious grease left on my hands, and a couple of leftovers brought home in a napkin, soaked it thoroughly when removed from the fridge the next day.On the good side, the bowl of fries was excellent: crispy & fresh, with no residual oil. And they always have a daily special on pints of draft, with a great selection available from the taps.Service was friendly and attentive. A good turnout for early evening, so trust others did not suffer the same fate with their food. We'll look elsewhere to indulge a wings craving in future.
We are neighbours in the area and find the location a great opportunity to go have a beverage without the concern of "drinking & driving". Well the pub has changed numerous times over the past 14 years and each time it seems less and less attractive. We stopped in with some friends last Monday only to find out the "happy hour" is gone, the menu has changed with a few new items and everything has increased in price but not value. I am a lover of "Rueben" sandwiches and let me tell you - I would not have served that sandwich to an animal. It was $ 15.00, no taste, the corn beef looked "off" and just out right not good. Wings were also ordered, and again what a disappointment. The other couple that was with us had just been there the Friday evening prior and ordered "pizza". They said it was also a great disappointment with no toppings on it and not worth it at all. The cooks there are hit and miss and no one seems to want to say anything to management as they often play favorites. Try to upgrade the status of your pub again guys.
Popped into the Gorge Pointe Pub after a quick appointment in Vic. Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and prompt, prices were decent and the food was good! It wasn't super busy as it was Monday around 11:30am. I ordered the Sesame Tuna Avacado Sandwich with a side salad and my mom ordered the 1pc cod and chips. The only hiccup was that I wanted my tuna cooked through and it wasn't but was really good regardless and my salad was very fresh! Would definitely recommend...we are perfectly full.
Located on the Outskirts of Victoria, this pub offers a good selection of beers and wines. We visited with friends and enjoyed the atmosphere, it has a very relaxed atmosphere and was quite busy as we arrived. We quickly found a table and were served almost immediately. The menu choice was a bit limited and the food was ok, my burger and our friend's fish was very good, but my wife said her pasta dish was way below par. Acceptable, but not brilliant.
Tuesday wing & beer special is not to be missed. Nothing like washing down a pound of perfectly-spiced, saucy Gold-Rush wings with a special pint of Hoyne Pilsner.
