Sherwood - Victoria

What a find! This is one of the best breakfast-y places I have ever eaten at, anywhere. Their food is just fantastic. Over two days my husband and I sampled 6 items and all were top notch, with fresh bright flavors. The smoked salmon/ricotta tartine (basically an open-faced sandwich), with homemade smoked salmon, was especially good. We had macchiatos both days and they were outstanding: strong and dark (neither weak nor fruit-forward) and well-made, with not too much milk and perfect balance. It was simply the best coffee we found in Victoria. We are sadly not locals, but will certainly return here on our next stay in Victoria!

I feel the need to shout this from the roof tops!!! This was an excellent meal with excellent service. I can’t believe I spend as much time as I do in Victoria, with parents who live here and I didn’t know about Sherwood until today. I met a friend here for coffee and was so happy to see that they offer coconut milk. The last of the plant based milks that are offered at coffee shops. I took a peek at the dinner menu and talked my dad into trying it out for dinner (my last meal with him before I fly out). First of all we had THE best waitress/server!! Ally was bubbly, informative, and attentive. She knew the menu, made amazing suggestions and took the time to get to know us. It’s suggested that the plates are for sharing so that’s exactly what we did. Cauliflower steak, sardines, beetroot salad and mushroom calamari. Fresh, delicious, inventive and beautiful. Cocktails were amazing as well. I had the humble bee and asked for it to be less sweet than normal. The bartender personally came over and made sure that I didn’t need anymore locally sourced honey. The 4 ingredients were all grown within 4km of the restaurant. Fabulous!!! Victoria needs more creative, inspired restaurants like this one. I will be back for sure.

Had a fantastic, romantic evening in this beautiful restaurant. Great ambience, very cool industrial furnishings. The service was amazing that she asked about nutrition restrictions (vegan, celiac) when confirming our reservation on the phone and when we arrived, the staff was knowledgeable and was ready to discuss/ adapt the menu for us. The food was an excellent presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. Very recommended and we will be back.

Modern decor, tasty plates, and friendly staff, what could you ask more? The attention to detail in Sherwood is fantastic down to the orange peels on the mimoses and non-smooth laundry facilities. This is one of my steps for meeting with couples, providers and happy hour.

Great food and service. We had the smoked salmon Benny and the hash. Delicious! Coffee also tasted great. Our server was nice: Very recommended, especially for cyclists and there are parking nearby as well as a free bike Valet service running near the city.
