Bidrage med feedbackGreat service. Central location. Usual Vietnames menu. A little confusion with the concept of "bbq garlic pork" -- it is in fact not/not fried spam, despite their chef's opinion, so definitely go with the beef dishes instead.
I love Pho type entrees and on a cold, windy west coast day this Vietnamese classic dish erases any thoughts of retreating to chicken noodle soup. When the Pho Hoa has its act together they serve some of the best Pho anywhere. Choice of variety can range from medium to very spicy, with pork, chicken, fish or steak (just to name a few). Servings are either large (big bowl) or medium and typically come with sides of sliced limes, bean sprouts, loosely cut cilantro style greens and very very hot chilli if desired. Their appetizers range from wings to pork bites or eggs rolls etc and are each predictably delicious. Menu prices are quite reasonable. I have no issues dining in a cavernous dining room that has almost no interior design elements whatsoever. Tables are arranged in endless rows separated by table high dividers that look like they were second thoughts. My issue is with the coldness of service! Initial servers seem to be mostly younger (18-25)Vietnamese women who do not smile,, say hello, ask how are you are doing! The food is ordered by a menu number and the person who brings it to the table (not the original server) seems to be part of cooking service and he says nothing except to ask who gets which number item.I know that in Vietnam typically diners are there to eat and move on promptly. But, in good old Victoria we like to be treated like our dime mattered! With that said, if you just want great Vietnamese food the Pho Hoa is a good choice!
Found this place by accident. Interior is typical Asian noodle house, not much to write about but clean. Service was good and friendly. The pho was good. Recommend if you just want to eat pho and atmosphere is not important to you.
My wife and I had dinner here with an entertainment coupon. So it was a bargain with buy one and half off second. She had spicy seafood pho, and loved it. I had pork and eggroll bowl I couldn't stop eating it.I would eat here again even without a coupon. My wife says I won't eat anywhere without one. Go you will enjoy it.
Had lunch here yesterday with some friends. Had lunch combo #3. Delicious large portion of fantastic tender BBQ pork over rice noodles, with large Vietnamese Spring roll and fresh salad with sprouts. Green tea was great too. Great value at $10.95. Service was fast and efficient but not friendly and no smiles offered from any of the staff. Room is big and cafeteria like. No ambiance whatsoever, but who cares, I'm here for a good and reasonably priced quick and tasty healthy lunch. Lots of other items on the menu looked good as well. I'll be back!
