Padella Italian Bistro - Victoria

Cute restaurant in the heart of Estevan VillageReally romantic setting with candles on each table and a dark rose red paint covering the walls.

I would give Padella's food a 4, but unfortunately, their service a 2 It seemed to be an off night for them.

We love this restaurant and go for every special occasion. Lately, we have been asking for the chef's table as it always has something new and interesting. The 'Montreal gnocchi' are a very new item, combining the flavours of 'everything bagels' with the restaurant's own smoked steelhead and pickled onions, and creme fraiche. Absolutely works! The black currant sorbet was a real hit for lovers of this under-appreciated fruit. We will be back soon!

I and some friends had a fantastic meal at Padella. We started with the eggplant fries which were wonderful. They were flavourful, light and ever so delicious. I think even non-eggplant fans would find something to like about them. We also had the house marinated olives which, again, were lovely. I had the spaghetti and meat balls. I don't eat beef, so it was a treat to have spaghetti & meatballs, given the meatballs were chicken. Rather than a tomato sauce, the sauce was white beans, leeks and herbs. It was one of the most tasty dishes I have had in a while. Absolutely delicious. My friends had the pasta alla norma and the flat iron steak. They both very much enjoyed their meals. The service was attentive and friendly and the vibe, welcoming. We didn't have a reservation and there was no 'attitude' about this, just a warm welcome and a desire to find us a table, even though the restaurant was busy. I look forward to returning and would not hesitate to recommend it.
