We've been living here 10 years and stopped going .... Tried it again .... Then stopped again. Now they concentrate on the tourist trade . Dining room is like eating in a cafeteria. Bad choice. Amazing steaks, great service and decent prices. Ambiance is a little lacking. Not very cozy. It's a huge open barn of a room, I can tell they're trying. Not really sure what can be done.
The first time I ate here the steak was poor quality. I noticed a slight bleach flavor. I got sick from the food. Months later some friends wanted to go there. I tried it the second time and still no good. It is beyond me how anyone can rate this place anything above two stars.
I don 't generally leave reviews, but this was BAD. Went there for the first time on our anniversary. We had high expectations, as it is rated one of the finest steak houses in Montana. What a joke! The waitstaff is dressed in whatever they had on when their shift started. The dining room is worse then a Golden Corral. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet. I realize it was a twist cap, but still, you do not set the bottle down with two glasses and walk away...am I being too picky here(? Anyway, We both ordered Prime rib medium rare. We both sent them back to be cooked longer. This is saying a lot as we both like red in our steaks. They were RAW. I don 't mean rare...I mean RAW. These steaks were not cooked by a chef , I 'm pretty sure the dish washer could have done a better job! This was by far, the worst steak dinner experience we have ever had. If you are in search of an upscale dining experience, look elsewhere.
Lucky enough to find this place while visiting friends that live here. . Ok so let's talk about this place. It's a real deal steak house. The staff was super nice, the place is nice and clean. Ok now let's talk food. And this is being written by a middle aged fat guy with passion for red meat. Let's start with the apps, we did deep fried green beans and sautéed mushrooms. Both were very good. The batter on the beans was a little heavier then expected but still great.. mushrooms cooked perfectly still firm but cooked. The house salad was good. But we are not here for salad, Now to the most important item of the day the MeAT!! My friend and I both ordered the last two 24oz T-Bone steaks. So let me remind you all. I eat and cook lots of steak. I am very much a med rare/rare meat eater. And often find my self disappointed by restaurant steaks. Well now the steak!! It came out looking wonderful on the hot plate with the bake potato, Let me tell you, this was no T-Bone this wonderful side of beef was a porter house. So I cut into to it to see if they managed to cook it correctly. Well this steak was cooked perfectly like just the way I cook them at home. There was no excessive fat or grizzle the quality of the meat was most excellent!! So with out question for the price of the dinner and the quality of the meat and the cooks skills you can't go wrong. Now stop reading and get in the place and get fat!!
