Kanki - Vichy

We hadn't intended to eat here,but the weather prevented us from looking further. This was a good thing as in the end we enjoyed the food. The restaurant is an ideal place to watch the world go by. I had the steak salad and fries. The food was good honest simple fair. The only negative to the visit was the slowness of staff to come and take payment, but this is more likely to be a cultural thing rather than any short coming of the staff.

This restaurant is opposite the train station and a nice enough place to take a coffee, but the service is only present when you first sit down. After that if you want a second drink you will have to chase someone for it.

Great meal here last night, we opted for the Grill to share between two, it was very tasty and looked pretty impressive too! Nice to enjoy a more relaxed environment, the restaurant was spacious and pleasantly decorated. Would have been five stars if only the waiter has managed to bring us some much requested water!

An amazing story: a Turkish family and their friends, originally from the same area in Turkey, settled in Auvergne and opened a kebab in Vichy... So good, rich and of good price that everyone else had to close... the success led them to open another two, visible on their website. I was struck by the contrast with other restaurants: when the typical kebab in France has plastic tables, Arab-style decoration and showcase with the dishes, here a very sober decoration, a traditional restaurant and even some luxury, a quality service at the table, there are no photos stuck on the wall of what you are going to eat!!! And obviously: delicious dishes! In addition to the traditional kebab with its fries and salad, roasted meats and other specialties! In front of the railway station: ideal for a pause before a train!

A place that lost a lot of its quality compared to previous years. An incessant stream of air when you eat in very unpleasant interior when it is fresh. Food is good, pleasant service and impeccable hygiene. You can no longer drink a little beer by eating...
