Bidrage med feedbackWe spotted this restaurant while walking around Viana do Castelo. After seeing our options for dinner we decided to go back and give this restaurant a try. We were so happy we chose this place because everything we ate was wonderful! We have been in Portugal 1 week and decided this has been our favorite meal!
This is a charming place with tiles and colorful tablecloths. The food is great, servings are ample and the service is friendly. I will be back and bring my friends.
We stumbled across this and actually hadn’t read any of the reviews before going (rare for me). In fact glad we didn’t as we probably would not have gone if we had read the reviews and we would have missed out. Our waitress spoke no English and we speak no Portuguese but it didn’t matter at all she was warm and friendly and we all managed with a bit of pointing and gesturing! We shared seafood rice and it was tasty and comforting with a wide range of seafood. This isn’t fancy food by any means but it was a pleasant and fun evening and we left very satisfied.
Carlos truly made this a wonderful evening. V good English and fun personality. Knowledgeable re wines and food. We tried local Vinho verde and red wine before making our choice. Vege snd fish soups were v good. The grilled veal was superb. Melt in the mouth pulled veal of fantastic flavor served on platter for 2 with local cabbage potatoes carrots.. deeelucious. Friends had veal steak which was equally flavoursome and s strawberry dessert. Beautiful inside with typical tiled feature wall..... a very good night out. € 74 for 4 incl wine and a dessert. About €10/ head for main meal.
This is one of a string of restaurants that front a popular park not too far from the waterfront. The restaurants all offer al-fresco dining and most seem to have a strong seafood focus, and all look as they are principally depending on the tourist trade. No particular reason why we picked the restaurant but we were not unhappy with our choice. A friendly waiter with good English was a good start. Very extensive menu but given the locale we stuck with the seafood (washed down with beer) and again we were very happy with what we had. Our meal was topped off with a round of brandies, courtesy of the house. Prices a bit on the high side for Portugal, but given the location and the seafood meals we should have been totally surprised.
