Bidrage med feedbackSo disappointed that after booking weeks before us, a table with a view of the unused kamin was offered completely with müll next to it. do not eat fine when paper is on the top of the table. there was another table in the restaurant. freeze. air cone. waiter rushed and distracted. after 20 min someone took our order. the wine order lasted 3 pieces to be served properly. we chose the selection of the chef. steak with so much gristle could not eat it. salat drowned in bad olive oil. I had to put teeth to get the taste out of the mouth. highlight was double baked cheese soufflé. pate ok. Otherwise sub-standard for the price. will not go back there. $180 worth the disappointment and we had so high hopes. unfortunately not to be. very unhappy.
Came here as a group to the bar paying an admission of $5 each. Was expecting to order from the bar menu only to be told on arrival there was a winter red festival going on and the only food available was fries or hot...dogs. No one bothered to tell us else we would not have come here. Customer service was rude and pushy.
Booked Sunday lunch and it turned out to be the very best dining experience I've had in the Adelaide Hills in the past 10 years! I loved their old world country charm style in a very pretty setting, just off the main highway to Adelaide. The...service was charming and welcoming and the atmosphere was just perfect for a winterly Sunday lunch. And more importantly, the menu is impressive. I normally struggle to find three courses on any given menu but today I struggled because there were so many items that were very tempting indeed. Ended up choosing the quail starter, followed by a shared Chateaubriand, and ended with a dark chocolate marquise and long black. Wine selected was a bottle of the Hahndorf Hill Reserve Gruner, followed by another it seemed to be the best possible match for the interesting menu offerings and was that ever a good choice! Suffice to say that I have not dined anywhere in the Adelaide Hills over the past 10 years that has been as pleasurable and as delightful. Well done!
I was really looking forward to having booked lunch here but at 2.00pm, but our table was in a dark corner, we struggled to read the menu. My family enjoyed the chicken dish and the pork dish but the steak dish I had medium rare...was tuff and I couldn't eat it. The ambience was noisy everyone seemed to shout.
Dead flying on the windowboard next to our table, false cutlery layout, a escape that would have provided with a spoon had no, cracked pfeffer had to be physically hunted (not offered), hard steak in the main course, and those desserts were underwhelming. especially for the price. in no case during a course we were asked how everything was. a surly demeanour of a certain employee added the disappointment. music was too loud, and if more than one customer complained, the answer was that it could not be reduced in volume. room temperature was far too cold, and the style of the music was completely inappropriate for the style of the place. when I asked (if I would pay), if feedback would make a difference, the cold answer was “not financial”. this place was once fine silver service eating to its best, but now all you get is silver service prices. we had eaten a week before at the wrest point casino for less money and it overshadowed the quality at this place massiw. mediocre eat too high trips with poor pub quality, atmosphere and attitude. we would never eat there again.
