Locanda 81 - VERBANIA

Lots of ambition here, in an old house with maybe 7 or 8 tables indoors, no terrace weather yet. As we studied the menu, the chef dashed by our table to greet the party on the only other table taken at the time, to tell them of an additional dish. Almost greeted us as well. When the waitress who is a gem, has been working there since 2019 came back to take our order, that other dish was not mentioned. I almost asked but considered the question impolite. The selection of dishes had a focus on seafood and fish, some fusion elements between Asian and Italian cuisine made it interesting. Wine list was international. Had to ask to leave out one of the components, and they almost tried to make up for it by suggesting a replacement. Not to increase the other components, alas. Desserts were creative, and enjoyed by ourselves and the party on the other table first time visitors, the waitress told us , a good selection of grappe made for an almost perfect finish. Hadn't they served capsuled espresso ... Yes, less to clean, but less flavor, too!

Wonderful intimate restaurant where the dishes were of a high quality and clearly freshly prepared. The atmosphere and location were perfect, the staff attentive and non intrusive and the location right by the lake. The tables were all booked highly recommend pre booking a table) and we were able to take our dog inside.

I love this restaurant. The food is always fresh and in season. Every dish was amazing (and I’m very particular about quality). Wine was superb (good selection). Freshly made faccacia, in house daily. Delicious! They have a cute outdoor patio and indoor dining. Both are great. This is an excellent option when in pallanza. It’s not like some of the other touristy places along the boardwalk. This is a place built with love (the chef is the owner and couldn’t be kinder). We ate here several times and will definitely return.
