Bidrage med feedbackWe were five people in Venice and ate dinner. The food was disgusting smelled like old food.they fooled us with price. There was a fish that cost 8 euros but we had to pay 25 euro.Warning to all who eat in Ristorante Chinese Shanghai on Calle Priuli Cavalletti Ai.Ask carefully about the price or do not go to the restaurant.
We have stayed in Venice twice over the last five years, and each time we enjoyed most of our evening meals at the Ristorante Cinese Shanghai on Calle Priuli Ai Cavalletti, close to the Santa Lucia railway station. The food was excellent; our favorite dishes included the chicken with vegetable, shrimp fried rice, and rice noodles with shrimp, although everything we tried was good. One couple seated across from us enjoyed a braised fish entree, which also looked delicious. Most nights the clientele was primarily Asian; we were often the only non-Asians there, but we took that to be a good sign for the authenticity and flavor of the food. The restaurant offers a tourist menu in several price ranges (from 8 to 15 euros, at the time we stayed), along with the extensive a la carte menu. The menu was printed in both Chinese and English. One time we received something different than what we had ordered due to the language barrier, but every dish we received was fresh and had a wonderful taste. If we had spoken Chinese, we would have asked for the recipe for the sauce used in the chicken with vegetable; one of the best we've ever tasted!
I went there with my friends from the cruise ship, and they want to try some real Chinese food after half year in Europe,we found this restaurant by accident.good location with a nice Chinese atmosphere, the food are real shanghai style.and the price is reasonable, even for me,a real Chinese,I had no super surprise, but all my friends enjoyed the meal.
After 8 days having pasta and pizzas, we longing for our own staple food. Taste and quality lower than the one we had in Florence which I reviewed earlier on. Price is lower than most restaurant in venice but they charge a cover charge of E1.50 per pax. The waiter is kinda rude in service compare to other local restaurants. Taste? I would say better than nothing if you really need some Chinese food. Else please go to a local Italian restaurant.
Ordered a few dishes and they came in really small potions. Prawns were certainly not fresh. I'm Chinese myself and I can easily tell the cooking was amateur level. Mum nagged for Chinese food so we went to this one we found really wished I looked it up on tripadvisor before going in!
