Made a reservation on line based on random chance turned out to be the best meal of our stay in Venice. Great wine and service too. Loved watching the cruise ships go by and going from evening to night. Very relaxed. Thanks for a perfect ending to our holiday.

To start with the service was bad. We had to ask for everything including silver ware and drinks. Took 20 minutes before the waitress even came to our table! And we were the only ones there. (That should have alerted us before we sat down). The food was not very good and very small portions. Had to go down street and get more to eat at a pizzeria which was a lot better tasting.

We booked this as joining in the party at the Redentore was our aim. We had a truly memorable evening; a generous seafood reception in the garden, not the usual skimpy canapés but tables brimming with fresh and delicious fish and seafood, washed down with a spritz, then five courses of skilfully prepared food; continuing the fish and seafood theme apart from the dessert of course. The price we paid included wine and water and coffee too, if you had room. Price wise it compared extremely favourably with other less prestigious and less well situated establishments. The waiting staff were professional and friendly and the location, on the Riva itself, gave us a wonderful view of the firework display. A night to remember always.

After reading the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor for this restaurant we decided that this was the spot for dinner on our final night in Venice. We arrived at 7 pm to find the main floor dining room both inside and out completely empty. We asked for directions to the rooftop restaurant and were told this is only for drinks. This is certainly not what we understood from the reviews but we decided to go up and have a drink. The view is certainly lovely and we ordered a bottle of whine which turned out to be exactly double the price of the very same wine which we later ordered at a restaurant beside the Rialto Bridge. When we left at about 8:30 there were still only two tables occupied in the ground floor restaurant so we decided to go elsewhere. The total disconnect between our experience and the reviews makes us wonder whether either the reviews are false or something has changed drastically in the management of this hotel/restaurant

After researching hundreds of restaurants we booked this restaurant for a birthday dinner specifically as it was close walking proximity to our hotel on the Grand Canal. It was 14 of us and overall it was a goo choice. Service was a bit slow, and two of the mixed drinks were awul but the food was very good.
