Bidrage med feedbackEating was not good at all. on the first night we took the board that was recommended. the fish had no taste at all. on the second evening I took the shimmer that was watery and the meat was dry. my friend took the stew with sanglier, which was better. also the service was not good. we had to order our drinks several times because the drinks had not come (they forgot us? and when they came, they were not what we ordered. Pity that the service and eating are not better because it is the only restaurant in the village. the hotel u frascone in venaco, from the same owner, is good breakfast, friendly staff, magnificent view! no bad word about the hotel.
We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we came back the following evening. the staff was friendly and helpful and eating was really good. the desserts were spectacular. at the end of the evening we were offered their delicious blueberry wing. a really beautiful evening
We ate here twice. Plenty of options on the menu for both lunch or dinner. The pizzas are excellent and there are plenty of local Corsican specialities too. Enjoyed some nice salads for lunch. Waiters may appear a bit unfriendly but it's just the local...style! Reasonably priced.
We were blown away by this place in Venaco. We were not expecting to find food of such a high quality in a small town in the hills of Corsica with great vegetarian options. We never left this place regretting any of the choices we...made. We were there 4 nights in a row. We ate the Brescia pizza one night which is something you won't find everywhere and was pretty special. On the third night we told Alex we were vegetarian and he bent over backwards to put something special together for us. The service was fantastic and we never waited long for our meals. If you are in Venaco you have to try this place.
The Bar is a 700 metre (Corsican metres that is) walk through the village from the hotel where we were staying. Up hill there ....down hill on the way back! The owner was proud of just how locally sourced much of the food on the...menu is. We shared plates of local meat and cheese for our starter. For my main I went for the local lamb that came from a flock that grazed on the maquis scrub above the restaurant. It was delicious. The second night I chose the wild boar. The food was solid, fit for the locale. The house wines were just as good. The Pietra blond is a local beer ...... found every where on Corse. Give it a go. If you are staying in Vercano this restaurant needs to be tried.
