Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge

We had dessert here again recently. The servers are friendly and accommodating though they often seem to be a bit understaffed. The cakes are good, its not fine dining but a nice place to have a treat and enjoy good company. Also a reasonably good place for a first date.

I like this place because it can serve different purposes. You can grab dinner, just drinks, or even come for dessert. It's suitable for a date, a night out with friends, or even a family lunch. Personally, I find the food average at best, but the desserts are great. Service is spotty though. Expect long waits to order, receive food, etc.

Used to come to this location a lot when I was younger until they opened one up on Yonge. It's not the same as it used to be unfortunately as the quality of food has gone down.<br/ <br/ My favourites are definitely the spinach dip, sweet and spicy chicken bites and calamari. Desserts usually always let me down because they never taste fresh so I'll steer clear of those.

The relaxing atmosphere of disturbing enjoyment. The atmosphere in this restaurant is really nice. With incredible art on the walls. As well as I enjoyed the leather chairs, except the little discomfort that there is no armrest. Waiter took a while to show up. Food was good, ordered a Chicken Souvlaki, with salad, french fries, coleslaw, and sauce for around $20. The portion size is big, and will fill you up. Quality is good. The atmosphere of the place is classy, and relaxing, yet they played trance and club music. I would suggest classical music, or jazz. The service needs more attention, servers were bad. While choosing slice of cake for the dessert, I saw waiter grabbed some ones cake with bare hands, and put it on the dish. So I had to stay there and monitor my order. Other than service, the place is really good, and pricing is reasonable.

Nice place. Pricey for a breakfast spot. Tried the eggs Benedict and it was just okay. Nice atmosphere and service. I will be back since my cousins from out of town liked it but only when i have guests staying over.
