Bidrage med feedbackUsually on a trip i always try multiple places but in 4 days we went here 2 x's, both right after a long day at Canada's Wonderland. The menu had so many options and all 4 of us loved what they had and the prices are really reasonable for (what feels like) a high end place.
Not sure what happened since I was there last? Change of chef? The food was not as good as it used to be. My lobster grilled cheese had hardly any cheese on it at all and was very expensive for the size of the sandwich. Not impressed. My son's tilapia with rice and shrimps was good however. I guess it's lost its WOW factor and just isn't as impressive yet more expensive than it used to be.
This Pickel Barrel is always busy but has excellent wait staff who are always willing to cater to your needs. Breakfast is a delight, recommend the French toast with berries and maple syrup or the three eggs with toast of your choice, I prefer Challah and then of course a latke with sour cream - divine! Multiple choices for lunch and dinner make the Pickel Barrel a great restaurant for every type of culinary delight you would like. don't forget to indulge in one of their sundaes which are scrumptious. A nice experience for anyone who eats there.
Went to Vaughan Mills on a Friday night for some shopping and decided to pop in for a bite. Glad we did. The server (Gabe) was excellent. Attentive and helpful. A little mishap with a cracked glass was dealt with immediately. The food was above average. Grilled cheese, fish and chips, chicken fingers, chicken and waffles, fried calamari and the poutine were all very good. Dinner for 4 with 2 beers for under $100 is very reasonable.
Shopping for the day prior to getting our hotel close to the airport. Tiip
