Too bad it closed up I heard some really great music there! It was fun with the New Orleans theme with Blues ,Jazz or some night just a good piano player, Too bad its gone.
We came last year for a singing competition. The bar was pretty packed. Service was a bit slow at the table so we just got our drinks from the bar. And the bartender was great! Would have given higher star rating if I didn't have to leave my table to get my own drinks. First time here and maybe I would try it again.
I had a large groups of friends in town for the weekend and FanClub set us up with a guest list and were extremely friendly and accommodating once we arrived. In my opinion, their front door service exceeded my expectations for Vancouver night life. Always a fun venue with live music and mixed crowd! For anyone that was a fan of the Yale (RIP), you will enjoy FanClub!!
We decided to take the skytrain from Surrey to downtown Vancouver. We did not want to miss John Mann's official release of his 'The Waiting Room'. And boy, was it worth it! We were also treated to an opening act of songs by a young Luca Fogale. We bought several of his CD's called 'Paths' and I would encourage anyone to go see him when he is in your area. John Mann is a colorectal cancer survivor like myself and wrote all of his songs in the 'Waiting Room' based on his experiences with surgery, chemo, and recovery. It was an inspiring uplifting evening. The piano player (all dressed in red) who entertained all of us before the festivities began was excellent and loved his craft. We ordered two bottles of red wine. The menu was limited but the food was well prepared. Like I said , go for the music, the food is secondary. Oh, before I forget, they have the most gorgeous Irish cider on tap. Try it. You will love it. If you have not heard of John Mann, get his CD 'The Waiting Room' and listen to the very last track 'Of Mice and Men'. If it does not move you, nothing will.
