The whole building was styled after the Polynesian Tiki theme including unique architectural feature like bamboo, murals, neon paintings and a giant clam shell embedded into the nook downstairs. Drinks are a little pricey but that's expected when there's no early cover charge.
Stayed here not too long ago. Checked in, room seemed fine. Then....we found a used toothbrush in the safe, and the bathroom wasn't overly clean. Went to sleep, only to wake up and notice that there were blood stains on the sheets at the foot of the bed. My friend checked her sheets and there was blood as well! Will definitely not stay here again, but will continue to have multiple cocktails in the tiki bar!
I went to see Talamasca's concert at this place on Friday, January 15, 2016. Themusic was great, but the sound system was not worth to listen. The place is small, the air circulation is terrible. I have never written a bad review to any place; however, this place really deserve it. My wife got sick on the floor, and I asked the barman who was polishing glasses for help, he completely ignored me. This gentleman must hate himself and everybody else. He was always grump. If was not his for co-worker, a girl who demonstrated professionalism in make us a glass of lemon and water, my wife would had became very sick. I meet very nice people at this night; however I did not have my mobile phone or a pen on me. I asked this barman if he could borrow me pen, he again completely ignored my friend and I. Felt very uncomfortable and not safe at Waldort. I would like to advise the management of the hotel to teach this man how to treat a client, so this client would be back even if the sound system or decoration was not satisfactory.
I live in East Van and have done do for 20 years. I like to drink 4 shot espressos that cost anywhere from 2.50 to 5.00 depending on how much cafés think they can get. Waldorf Cafe and Pizzeria wanted 11.50. For a cup of coffee. Good luck with that guys.
Fabulous food! Great Service! Great Venue! We had our 65th Birthday Bash here for a bunch of East Enders - former Graduates of Templeton High School. The service was impecable, with friendly efficient staff and a wide variety of beautifully prepared food.
