Bidrage med feedbackI decided to try the breakfast pizza—a dish that often looks appealing on the menu but typically fails to impress. However, in Michael’s hands, this breakfast pizza became a phenomenal creation. It features a perfect blend of all the classic breakfast ingredients, topped with a spinach-based sauce and lightly charred crust, while avoiding that greasy, heavy feeling you might expect. My friend Pardee chose the salmon Benedict, which can sometimes be hit or miss, but this one was astonishingly the best Benedict I've ever had. The hollandaise sauce was more akin to an aioli, paired with sushi-grade salmon and eggs cooked to perfection. Accompanying the Benedict were crispy herbed lemon potatoes, so delicious that I couldn’t even begin to replicate them, along with a stunning fruit plate that appeared to have taken ages to prepare. To finish our meal, we indulged in a deconstructed spanakopita, cleverly filled with apples, oatmeal, and what I believe was mascarpone. It sounds like an odd combination, much like that charming girl with the quirky laugh you meet at a bar, but it tastes absolutely divine. I often say that the mark of a great breakfast is one that surpasses my own cooking, and not only did this exceed mine, but it’s something I could never hope to create myself! The remarkable skill demonstrated in the food is what inspired me to write this review. I truly hope Michael finds great success and never relocates from this spot. On my deathbed, my last wish will undoubtedly be for breakfast from Scoozi's. Breakfast is, indeed, the Space Baby.
The food was absolutely fantastic and very reasonably priced! The service was outstanding, and I highly recommend visiting for brunch, lunch, or dinner!
Honestly, it was the best breakfast I've ever had, and I've tried a lot of different dishes. If you're in the area, you have to try the salmon Benedict as soon as possible!
Scoozis was recommended by the concierge and was only a few blocks from the Delta Suites. This Greek restaurant had a charm all its own. We were greeted by the owner and shown to a 'special ' booth since there was nothing available outside. He welcomed us into his restaurant and treated us as old friends. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We started with Mimosas and Dennis had their special breakfast casserole, while I had the Eggs Florentine--their vegetarian version of Eggs Benedict. I have to say that their Hollandaise was the best I 've had and I prefer the spinach to the Canadian Bacon of the Eggs Benedict. The server cleared the table and brought us a special treat of delicate layers of pastry served with honey and fruit.
We used to eat at Scoozis years ago in the 1980's when we worked downtown. We are retired now and live to far away to visit it often. When we do eat there we are thrilled with the food still. He has not lost his touch, great food and some fruit on the side everytime. Well worth the visit
