Bidrage med feedbackAlthough the Pizza Hat on Robson might not be the top spot for pizza in Vancouver, it holds a special place in my heart. I have fond memories of ordering from this chain with my ex-partner from 2008 to 2012. The food always arrived quickly and hot, making our nights in cozy. Recently, I went back to the restaurant and ordered a personal meat lover pizza, Buffalo Burnin’ hot wings, and mini Cinnabon rolls. The food arrived promptly and tasted just as good as I remembered. The pizza was cheesy and satisfying, the wings had a nice spicy kick, and the Cinnabon rolls were a tasty treat. While my tastes have changed over the years, there’s something comforting about enjoying affordable and delicious food from Pizza Hat. I appreciate that they embrace their identity as a "Trash Pizza" establishment. Although there are other culinary options in the city, sometimes it’s nice to revisit a classic. I suggest giving Pizza Hat a try if you’re in the mood for a nostalgic meal. (Food: 4/5, Service: 5/5, Value: 4/5)
Are you serious? Skip this place and head to Commercial Drive or Victoria Drive for some truly amazing cakes. This place is just dull. Only worth it if you're desperate at 3 o'clock.
I called the restaurant at 10:00 a.m. to place an order for two pizzas. It took 11 minutes to order because the person I spoke with was having difficulties with English. After waiting for 1 hour and 16 minutes, I had to call the restaurant to inquire about my order. They claimed that they did not have the apartment number or buzzer for delivery. When I asked why they didn't call the number I provided, they had no response. Eventually, they sent the driver back, who located the correct apartment number and buzzer after I requested to see the reception. The pizza arrived cold and no apology was given for the error. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, especially considering I had ordered from them before.
The reviewers were disappointed with the pizza at this restaurant, as it did not meet their expectations. The BBQ smokehouse pizza had a base of BBQ sauce and lacked other ingredients. The reviewer found the pizza to be terrible. Additionally, they were unhappy about being charged a fee for using a credit card.
Ah, the Pizza Hut on Robson! While I agree that there are many “better places to get pizza” in Vancouver, I was on a bit of a nostalgia trip. I’ve always had a soft spot for this chain – it was a treat growing up...– but this unit, in particular, has some nice memories attached to it as well. My former partner and I used to order from here fairly regularly between and whenever I’d be in Vancouver on business. As I recall, the food – be it pizza, wings, wedges or poutine – always arrived on time and piping hot. There was just something relaxing and even fun about getting this “trash pizza” and chilling or watching a movie in our room. Fast-forward seven years and things have definitely changed both personally and food-wise. With respect to food, my tastes have certainly evolved – gotten a bit more refined – but I still love getting my cheap eats. Thus, I once again found myself in Vancouver for meetings and decided to get all nostalgic. Pizza Hut was on the evening’s menu. I ordered: A personal meat lover’s pizza, “buffalo burnin’ hot wings,” and mini rolls by Cinnabon. From order to delivery, my food arrived at the hotel in exactly minutes – now that’s what you call excellent timing. In terms of the food, I felt it was vintage Pizza Hut. The pizza was greasy, cheesy and loaded with toppings – brought me right back to my childhood. And, hey, that’s what this type of pizza is: It’s cheap and quick, otherwise known as “trash pizza.” If you want something more refined, you should probably go elsewhere; however, for me, this is exactly what I wanted on this particular day. The wings, likewise, had a nice spice to them, but I have noticed that Pizza Hut has toned down their “burnin’ hot wings” quite substantially over the last few years. Once upon a time they used to practically burn my mouth off, but not so much anymore. Finally, the Cinnabon rolls . . . oh how I love these gooey little rolls! They’re fairly new to Pizza Hut, having only joined the menu in the last year. While small, I appreciate them exactly because no Cinnabon stores remain in BC following the closure of the one at YVR a couple of years ago. So, cheap pizza and Cinnabon? That’s a match made in Heaven! FOOD: SERVICE: VALUE: RECOMMENDATION: The thing I really like about Pizza Hut is they don’t pretend to be something they’re not. They know they’re “trash pizza” and they embrace it. And while there are better places to get pizza in town, sometimes it’s nice to go for a classic. Recommended!
