Bidrage med feedbackLaurelle’s Fine Foods is a vendor at the Granville Island Public Market that has got one mesmerizing food display case. I swear I have walked back and forth around the display case a few times before I could decide on what to try. Laurelle’s has lots of homemade style options for eat-in or take out including savoury pies, pastries, and pastas. Got a sweet tooth? You will undoubtedly find some delectable goodies like brightly coloured cupcakes, chocolate covered rice krispies and sugar cookies.
This restaurant at Granville Island public market is a hidden gem. While other tourists are busy eating mall food court food in another section, you should check out the delicious items offered in the deli display cases here. I personally enjoy getting a cold roast chicken leg and some salad.
I want one of everything!. Laurelle's is eye candy as much as mouth candy. The more I look at what's in their display cases, the more I want to buy one of everything. Which is too bad, because I live too close to here to come down for a bigger meal, but too far away for me to want to bike down here in the morning in case I feel like picking up a fresh pastry to go with my home espressed cappucino.<br/ <br/ I was in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan recently, where they're nutso about Cornish pasties. When I saw that Laurelle's sells them too this stall is mostly about sweet pastries I had to try one. It's small, and at $3.99, a trifle expensive for the size. But the crust is crispy and tasty even when I reheated it at home. Decent fillings inside, although I'll have to get out the microscope to see whether Laurelle's used carrots or rutabagas. he propriety of using carrots in pasties is a topic of serious debate in the U.P., you know...
This restaurant is amazing. I absolutely adore their triple berry crumble. I've attempted to make berry pies/crumbles at home using online recipes, but they never turned out quite right. I'm blown away by how they manage to make it so delicious without any starchy taste. That's basically all I order whenever I come here now. I used to be obsessed with Nanaimo bars, but ever since trying their crumbles, I can't go back.
The Spinach Feta Scones are delicious. They are perfect to take home, cut in half, toast, and enjoy with scrambled eggs. A perfect combination!
