Bidrage med feedbackIntitulés des plats en italien ce qui est normal. Pâtes pas tout à fait al denté mais pas trop cuite. Recette classique aux palourdes et Bolognaise tres bonnes. Pizza pâte fine a l'italienne.
I've visited this restaurant several times and it's relatively consistent. The staff are friendly but often rushed (as others have noted), and at times it can get quite busy. I find the food to be a bit limited and not always to my taste, but the longstanding popularity of La Notte speaks to its appeal to many people, local and visiting. There are other Italian restaurants in the city that I prefer but if you're in the neighbourhood, you can certainly do much worse.
I got the fettuccine and it was just tasteless, didn't have any flavor except for cream. The waiter was in a hurry the whole time and didn't really take her time for us. And the other waiter just ignored us. And the dessert all seemed prefab and again tasteless. My tiramisu was mushy and had only one flavor. There a pianist, and he was really nice but he played too loud so we had difficulty understanding each other.
I had the eggplant parmesan which was just average. One piece of the eggplant was quite thick and hard. The pasta served along side did not have much taste. the service was slow but the server was very pleasant and helpful.
On this Friday night, with my daughter, her husband and son, my wife decided that rather than eat at home as we usually do, we should go out for an Italian meal to La Notte. The food was slow to deliver, but the definitely worth the wait because everything was freshly prepared. The Minestrone soup I ordered was the best I have ever eaten. My Marguerita Pizza, large, and more than I usually eat was so enjoyable, I ate the whole pizza, and enjoyed every bite. There was a pianist who was playing softly in the background, giving the evening a wonderful atmosphere. He was so good, I gave him a $5 tip. One of the best meals, a viewpoint shared by my family, ever eaten in Vancouver.
