Last Saturday we returned to La Notte for another tasty dinner before heading on to the VSO. We discovered La Notte relatively recently, (about 3 4 years ago), and have enjoyed their meals immensely. The atmosphere is casual; there is a weekend piano player and the man who is playing now is excellent; the meals are consistently good and the service too. We have enjoyed many items from the menu over this time including pastas, seafood and veal dishes all very good. The special of the day is always worth trying. This is a wonderful resource for the neighbourhood with many locals attending regularly.
W are new to this neighborhood. Happy to have discovered this Italian restaurant. Good food, good service , excellent choice of wine. Nice atmosphere.
My first night and first meal in Vancouver. We all enjoyed our meals 2 pizzas and 3 pasta dishes. Our deserts chocolate cake and cheesecake were not bad. The ladies had wine and the gents had beer. Service friendly and efficiant. Price reasonable. Piano player at the back made it feel like a night out.
Me and my sister took our dad and her father in law for a Father’s Day dinner last night. This place has been around for decades and is a friendly local Italian neighbourhood restaurant that I have passed by everyday while taking the bus to UBC. Overall it was a nice experience. The staff were fantastic and super helpful and always around to top up the water glasses. They had live music in the form of a piano player which was a lovely touch. The decor was nice and atmospheric but can you do something about the sun in our eyes? They couldn’t close the drapes so we sat with the sun sweating while eating our pasta. The one issue with the restaurant was the food. It was good but not great. In a city with excellent Italian restaurants, this was a bit of a disappointment. Some pastas looked and tasted better than others. The puttanesca was better than the vongole. Dad’s veal dish looked and tasted better than all of our pastas our together. The antipasti was a bit of a disappointment. Nice but not super original or creative. One thing that really impressed me was that the restaurant gave all dads a small tomato plant to take home. I thought that was a kind and special touch. Well done. I will go back but will take care in what I select to eat and where I sit!
