Deacon's Corner Kitsilano Diner

The food was good, classic diner style, but the bigger issue was they did not honor our reservation! When we arrived, the waiter told us they did not have a table reserved for us, so we had to sit at the bar. I explained I had booked through OpenTable, and he had no idea what that was. He pulled out this old black book and kept pointing to it that there was no reservation in there. Another table of 4 came in after us and had the exact same thing happen. Meanwhile, sitting at the bar, I can clearly see the tablet with the OpenTable reservations displayed on it. Not a single waiter/waitress looked at it the entire time we were there. So bad!!

Rather disappointed. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. The fried chicken batter looked like it was shake and bake. My waffles were cold and the only thing cooked well was the over medium egg. We were the only table and it was not busy since we were the first ones through the door when they opened. So, I couldn’t understand why my food was cold. I had a better experience at the Gastown location but that was 10 years ago. I would not recommend this place to anyone for breakfast.

Great casual food. Baked chicken and cookies are my favorite, and my sister enjoyed the Cobb salad.
