Bidrage med feedback... just do what he says. Every dish I tried was delicious with the grand finale being the three simple yet perfectly executed desserts. The fried polenta with mushrooms was perfect. So was the pasta with the house made pesto. However, the panna cotta was likely one of the best I have had. The flourless chocolate cake was good (but typically not on my favorite list) and the olive oil cake catapulted me back to my childhood. Service was friendly and efficient. Make sure you get there early. If you do not not get the first seating (no reservations.) put down your number and go for a walk in gas town.
This was my favourite dining experience in Vancouver. Buzzy local trattoria serving up seriously good Italian with a (restrained) twist – the meatballs and pappardelle with wild boar ragu were the standouts.Short sharp all Italian wine list – appreciated that most were available by the carafe, which meant a less sozzled experience, changing from white to red for mains.Busy Wednesday night with a 30 minute wait for a table – which was actually 30 minutes (and not 3 hours like some places this popular) – and passed quickly with a wine flight at the Vancouver Urban Winery close by.
Fabulous restaurant. Well worth the trip to get there. Angela manages the front of the house with experienced style. They don't take reservations and there are only a limited number of tables so she works very hard to make everyone welcome. Room is quite warm but the food and service make it worth it. The starters are all well chosen and the pasta dishes are the best I have eaten. Olive oil cake and chocolate budina are perfect desserts.
Was there for a weekend brunch and am def going back. It's a small place that apparently doesn't accept reservations. The pasta is great and made right in front of you. Seems like a limited wine selection but what they have was great! Really affordable for the quality of the food.
Our family of 5 had a late dinner at this restaurant after a stroll thru Gastown. The restaurant does not take reservations however, they do use "No Wait" so you can monitor your place in line if you choose to leave the area. We had dinner on a Friday evening and had a 1.5 hour wait when checking in at 7:30pm. The restaurant is cozy, limited tables, and a single bench outdoors to sit on while waiting. The neighborhood itself is relatively run down and a little sketchy. That being said, the food was great, many dishes are family style and meant for sharing, the service was great, just the right pace and knowledgable about the menu.
