Bidrage med feedbackTwo of us dined at this restaurant on a weeknight at 5:00 PM. The staff was friendly, but they struggled with the timing of our meal. We were seated at a very small table that barely had enough space for our plates and drinks. I ordered a side of broccoli with my dinner, and it arrived before my soup starter, which was a bit confusing. Our main dishes, soups, starters, and bread were served very quickly, making us feel rushed as if they were trying to clear the table for the next guests. The food was delicious, but the service could definitely benefit from better pacing.
The hostess noticed what was happening and promptly notified the manager, Vincent. He approached their table to greet them, listened to their concerns, and started to observe the situation himself. Vincent handled everything with great professionalism. My wife texted me to inform me of the situation, and I quickly left work to get there. In the 11 minutes it took me to arrive, Vincent had already taken control, positioning himself between my family and what could have been a dangerous scenario. His concern, empathy, and readiness to intervene made it evident that he takes his responsibilities seriously. It was clear that Vincent isn't just an employee at The Old Spaghetti Factory—he genuinely cares. As a husband and father, I truly commend Vincent for his professionalism, courtesy, and strong work ethic. I would hire him without hesitation after witnessing his actions in a real-life situation. He is undoubtedly a person of dignity, honor, and integrity. The Old Spaghetti Factory should be proud to have the right person in that role at this location. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here. The atmosphere is great, the food is top-notch and reasonably priced, and you can feel confident that you, your children, and your spouse will be safe within those walls.
Great service, food and wine! First time at this point, definitely I going to come back!
Wow. This is the worst Spaghetti Factory I've ever visited. The place was dirty, with layers of dust that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in over a month right next to us. There was dried spaghetti splattered on the wall where we were seated—do they even clean between customers? The bread knife couldn't cut the bread, and there were no plates provided to put the bread on between bites. The Italian soda was below average, and the minestrone soup had no noodles and tasted like it had been simmering for six days; all the vegetables were the same color. Our server was very nice but quite slow and didn't refill our drinks. After a long wait, our entrees finally arrived, but they were barely warmer than the plates themselves. The flavor was extremely bland—honestly, it felt like I was eating hospital food. Authentic Italian? I think not! Even the spumoni ice cream was lacking in its signature flavor. And for $55 for two people? That's outrageous!
Prices are on the rise! Nothing like the original in Downtown Portland that few remember, but it's good. You will find me here nearly every Sunday afternoon, but that doesn't mean it's got 5 stars. Service is usually good, when it's not my tips go downappropriately.
