Steak N Shake - Valparaiso

I entered the restaurant and placed my order at a screen, realizing that there were no waiters. I decided not to receive an email receipt, so I took a photo of the screen for my records. A server then accused me of taking their picture and refused to give me my food, a refund, or even a receipt. The place was lacking in cleanliness, decor, and quality of food.

The food at this restaurant is tasty and made from quality ingredients, but it seems like they may have some supply issues. The staff we interacted with were friendly, and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was fun, but unfortunately, the dining room was very dirty. We had to clean our own table because it was sticky, and the seats and floors were also sticky. The entryway was dirty when we first arrived, and the kiosks were wiped down. The bathroom was in poor condition as well. If it weren't for the cleanliness issues, I would have given this restaurant 5 stars.

Working in the food industry is not easy, and I speak from firsthand experience. However, my recent experience at this restaurant was completely unacceptable. I ordered two sandwich dishes which were supposed to come with fries and drinks, a hot dog combo with fries and a strawberry shake, and a side of cheese. Unfortunately, we did not receive the shake, hot dog, fries for the hot dog, or the cheese. The girl who was working there informed us that it was only her third day and she may have made a mistake with our order. A young man offered to bring us the missing items, and we eventually received the shake and hot dog. However, we were still missing the fries for the hot dog and the cheese. The staff informed us that the fries were not included because it was not indicated on the menu, but this was not our fault. We simply wanted what we had ordered. The food we did receive did not taste good, the sandwiches were off and very greasy, and the shake was not up to par for a place called "Steak and Shake". The customer service was lacking, with the young man and girl who worked there being unfriendly and indifferent to the fact that our order was incorrect on the receipt. Overall, this was a very unprofessional experience and we will not be returning to this establishment.

The food was good, but they gave us small paper straws for our Sickers milkshakes so I could not get on the straw and they didn't have sunk open, but like all Kovid thing is over, so that's stupid

I don't know how this place stays open. Last 3 times we have been there they are either closed completely or drive through only or toady it got even better with door dash delivery only! Are you kidding me!
