Le Buron - Valgorge

We were a party of eight and we were seated by the Windows stunning views Menu quite simple Salads/pizzas mostly) My mother's pizza was a little chargrilled but the others were handcrafted and adapted for my vegan daughter. Wine as ever was great, local and cheap. Service was a little slow but that was fine with us. Good value and plentiful

We first had lunch here lovely salads, although they probably had too much lettuce and not enough added extras. So we decided to go back for dinner. This was a disappointment the service was slow we had to ask to place our order which was just a pizza and that was not wonderful. This is certainly not a fast service place, although the food they prepare is of the fast service type! Give it a miss if you are passing through.

After a long walk around the magnificent scenery surrounding the Pont d’Arc (the prehistoric natural bridge carved out by the Ardeche River which eroded the mountain), we stopped by the village of Balazuc and discovered this cute restaurant. It is very well situated on a hill that gives a bird’s eye view of the giant cliffs surrounding the rocky River. They don’t have the full gourmet cuisine of the local region, but they do have a simple menu of burgers and pasta, plus some grilled steaks. I had the ravioli au gratin with a double cream Reblochon cheese and it was fabulous. My friend, Benoit, ordered a pizza “a la Campagnarde” (of the countryside) with tomatoes, onions , bacon, olives, and Emmenthal cheese. He enjoyed it. After these spicy orders, we craved something sweet, and they had tons of it! I ordered “la Coupe Ardechoise, two chestnut ice cream scoops plus one scoop of vanilla topped with “creme de Marron”(cream of chestnut) and whipped cream. Benoit had Peche Melba, three scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with peach syrup, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream. The weather was at its best, sunny with a touch of a cold breeze. Le Buron deserves to be recommended highly, and I do.

I you like to have an amazone expérience with super friendly staff but without breaking the bank: look no further and go support ambitious young business!! This is the place we loved it!
