Pilar - Valencia

Stumbled across this place in Valencia and glad we did.. even though we got off to a slow start. We were seated outside as it was full inside, but took about 15 minutes until someone acknowledged and gave us a menu (to the point that we nearly left. However, the service improved after this. We had some cheap (but good! wine. Followed by patatas bravas and a calamari bocadillo. You have to have a bocadillo if you’re in Valencia!

Can't fault this place. Everything I had was outstanding. The pepito Valenciano alone is a reason to come back. Nice laid back atmosphere, friendly staff. Luckily they forgot one dish as I had over ordered. They offered to still make it but I was content with finishing things off with a nice vermouth. Tasted 5 dishes, wouldn't mind coming back to taste the rest. Prices are fair.

We were unsure considering other reviews but we found the service to be great, the food was excellent all reasonably priced. We ordered calamari, patatas bravas, chorizo, jamon serrano tortilla. Muchas gracias!!

La verdad es que no estoy seguro de ponerle 5 estrellas, pero no porque no se las merezca, que se las merecen todas, si no para evitar que los turistas nos quiten también uno de los pocos sitios que nos quedan con buena calidad, buen ambiente y buen precio. En cualquier caso, se come muy bien, las raciones y bocadillos son buenísimas y muy generosas, el personal es fantástico y el precio más que razonable, esperamos que nos dure. La única pega, que solo está abierto el fin de semana.
