Bidrage med feedbackThis is Vail's BEST on mountain food. Yes, they smoke the meats right outside at the top of the mountain. The day we went they were only offering sandwiches, but that suited us just fine. It's on mountain dining, so yes, it's expensive, but honestly after shredding up the mountain, I didn't care. I was ready to eat! 2 Brisket sandwiches (each with a side that was a GENEROUS portion), 2 waters, and 1 Bud Light came out to $55. 1ST PRO TIP: Make a reservation online to get guaranteed seating in the inside dining room (so you don't have to fight for a table in the crowded outdoors). 2ND PRO TIP: Save your vaccination card to a special folder on your phone so that you can find it quickly and show it to the host. (March 2022 required for all diners 12 and older) 3RD PRO TIP: Show your season long Epic Pass for 20% off.
Ever had BBQ literally on the top of a mountain, 2 miles high, surrounded by beautiful snow-capped peaks? Get ready then. So the Pros: The experience and views are one-of-a-kind. The BBQ is good, and the location is extremely convenient for those on the mountain. The cons: This place can get absolutely slammed with significant lines, the prices are not cheap, and it isnt exactly accessible except by ski lift. Still, should stop off and have lunch here at least once while skiing Vail.
Go git yerself some BBQ! I’d say it’s the best BBQ on the mountain, but it’s also the best BBQ in Vail!
Ahh one of the best lunch spots at the mountain. Make sure to make the reservation fir Wildwood and not the wildwood express. While the express seating is still cool actual Wildwood has more scenic seating!
My ski school instructor tipped me off that the BBQ here was awesome and it was definitely the best meal I had in Vail. This is legit BBQ. When you're nearby, you can smell the wood burning that used to smoke the meats. You walk in and order cafeteria style. I got the 2 Mile High Plate $26.75), which included three meats, cornbread and a choice of French fries or Mac n cheese. I split the plate with a friend and it was enough for both of us to refuel to ski for a few more hours. They have picnic tables outside Wildwood where you can eat. Highly recommend stopping if you're skiing on Vail mountain!
