Jardin Steak House - Uruapan

We were in the city for vacation on December, and we know that this place is always open until late in the night. we went to dinner, the only thing that was amazing was the guacamole. we ordered garnelen, a new yorker steak and. a fish. the garnels floated on oil and not on olives. the steak saw that it had months on the freezer, and it was placed directly on the grill, burned one side and raw on the other. the fish was under the same conditions as the steak. we didn't finish our dishes, and the worst was that we couldn't sleep well in the night, we had a terrible stomach problem. after that we never decided again.

Five days in uruapan and we have decided that it is a great city, but it is not great on great food. at least my international standards. the jardin steak house is an exception. from the warm welcome of the park visitor (work for tips). to host and wait staff, it is first class all gone. they had steak and it looked and smells delicious. my wife and I have decided to cook gigantic garnel with curry sauce for her and oktopus in curry sauce for me. strange that we would order so similar with such a huge menu, but that is what happened. both were absolutely excellent. we added an excellent malbec from the weinliste pesos) and were happy campers. the wine service was extremely professional and I should note that they have temperature- and humidity-controlled weed storages. a plus in mexiko. we'd eat here in a minute. I would probably try chamorro or a kiuleta or maybe a steak. my wife thought about eating locally with a trout. who knows everything looks good! provecho

This is an outstanding restaurant. Clean, spacious, good decor, indoor or outdoor seating, excellent service, good prices and ... outstanding dishes. A wide range of steak dishes of the highest quality. I have tried many ... and the most interesting ... is APORREADILLO, a traditional...dish from the nearby Apatzingan region. Mariachis present on occasion. A good location for business entertainment or social. Parking on site. (tip the parking attendant)

I visited the jardin steak house several times and found it always excellent eating and service and mariachis. we always start with botanas (apparently) and always include my favorite cecina (that is a deep-fried beef jerk that they break off, bits,...add guacamole and/or salsa). I tried cecina in other michoacan restaurants and compared nothing with jardin! the covered seating area in the free area was recently upgraded and the washrooms were significantly improved. the parking space is now paved. they must visit!

Nice open kitchen. varied menu, quite expensive (cf. in comparison to U.S. good steak cuts, and wine list. cozy w/candles low light in the evening. served lunch dinnner. easy to find!
