Whole Foods Market - Upper Arlington

Whole Foods is, in my opinion, as close to a perfect grocery store as you can get. I really enjoy visiting and selecting a variety of produce and other items.

This place is well worth the trip for brunch! It is tiny and located in a long strip of equally unimpressive shops, but the food is magnificent. Our brunch with veggie sausage! was absolutely perfect. It was crowed, as you would imagine a place this good would be, but so worth it once we took one bite of our pancakes. Light, fluffy, with clusters of blueberries these were really exceptional. This place also offers really great juices! They had bakery items from pattycake (vegan bakery down the street) too. They were preparing soups when we left and they smelled amazing. The service is the one glitch here. They don't seem to designate tables to specific servers, but rather have some collective process of serving customers. Ideologically nice as that may be it means service is sporadic at best. I stared at the bottom of an empty coffee mug for far too long. They are too busy for an informal service plan to work.

Pleasant whole foods environment. Always have plenty of fresh vegetables and a great bulk section. They also just got an awesome fresh squeezed OJ machine that's incredible. Love it!

Whole Foods often gets a bad reputation for being too pricey, but I believe it’s all about knowing what to buy! They offer fantastic red pepper hummus and an impressive variety of kombucha. While the salad bar can be a bit expensive, you have to think of it as dining out since you can create your own little variety platter! My absolute favorite is their garlic raw vegan kale salad—it's just too delicious! I've even started making my own version at home with red quinoa. Their corn muffin salted caramel cupcakes are incredible, too! I only got to try them once, though. When I inquired about when they would be available again, I was told they were one of the store's most popular items, but they weren’t sure if they would offer them again, which was a bit confusing. They haven't had them since, or they've been sold out every time I've visited. I also think it’s great that they have a wine chiller! You can buy a bottle of white wine for a party and have it chilled while you finish up your grocery shopping—so convenient! Plus, they have a fantastic selection of Dr. Bronner's soap at great prices!
