The Mad Crab - University City

I highly recommend asking for Lisa as she provides excellent customer service. I visited this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday with my sister and grandmother, and everything was fantastic. The food was delicious.

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for fresh and hot seafood! They offer combination bags, or you can create your own. There is also a selection of fried seafood and other sides to choose from. You can pick your preferred seasoning and level of spiciness. Personally, I prefer milder options, so we went with the lemon pepper seasoning, and it was delicious! We ordered crab legs, shrimp, and black mussels for our seafood. The steaming hot bag also included corn, potatoes, and sausages, all of which were very tasty. They provide plastic bags and gloves for you to dig in and enjoy your meal. They also serve beer! The hand washing station is conveniently located near the restrooms. The service is excellent, with attentive servers who refilled my drink multiple times. This is definitely one of my favorite places to dine!

I have dined at this restaurant before, but today's experience will be my final one. I was put off by the sight of the person taking my order repeatedly picking his nose at the front counter. Additionally, my $150 seafood order was overcooked and lacking in seasoning. These issues have left me with no desire to return to this establishment. If you don't believe me, feel free to try it yourself, but I wish someone had warned me before.

My daughter and I ordered the boil bag special, but when it arrived, the shrimp and crab legs were overcooked! Our waitress was very friendly, but the cook was quite sharp with us. He said he wouldn't be willing to cook the food again because it would turn out the same. I ended up just getting a refund because I know that shrimp shouldn't be rubbery. Overall, I would rate the food a 2 out of 5.

The food was amazing with great taste! The person who appeared to be the owner was very kind and helpful. As a Swede, I've never experienced anything like it before. It made our short stay in St. Louis a perfect 5 out of 5! Food: 5 out of 5.
