Pumpernickel Inn - Union Pier

I live in Union Pier and have been to Izzy's on several occasions, but I will not support this business moving forward. The male server, not sure if he's the owner but I suspect he is, has been so rude on numerous occasions I can't in good conscience go back. The Gelato is a 3.5. Most flavors are okay but not as intense as Gelato overseas, with the exception of the pistachio which is phenomenal. There is also a creme de menthe which is fantastic IF you get any mint, otherwise all you get is plain chocolate. And if you ask him to please scoop some of the mint, you receive a snotty negative reply. After several of these negative encounters, I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

The restaurant is very understaffed due to COVID. Waitress was great, considering she was the only wait staffperson working during brunch hour. The owner/cook was extremely rude and blamed a miscommunication that took place on me. His words were You must not have been clear.

Delicious gelato, very fresh, great variety of flavors. Cute outdoor seating area added this summer. Highly recommend

Tiny scoops of gelato. Hollow in each scoop. Disappointed that the owner who scooped didn't apply any pressure barely skimmed the new container of pistachio. Didn't even taste good.

Weekends are reliable, Thurs -Sunday. Not always open. Closed month of February Call for Inn Cafe availability.
