First an last time in this place. They charge the service before taxes .When the server was all the time siting and on the phone.
How you going to have a Peruvian spot when they don’t even know the name of the dishes. SMH! ?? terrible service and food is no good. ??
I really wanted to like this place because I enjoy Peruvian food but unfortunately the service and how the food was served was really not the best. When we placed the order, music was so loud that there were a couple mistakes, but also, server 's attitude wasn 't great at all, specially when one of the dishes was completely mistaken, instead of offering some solution,, the first thing said was No, you ordered that . Appetizers, ALL OF THEM, were served at the end, after the main dishes!! not one was served at the beginning and not even an apology for that we received. My dish, the Bistek a lo pobre, included a fried egg, that was burned (idk how you serve that instead of replacing it), 2 of the sweet plantains were also slightly burned, so in conclusion, having a big party here may not be the best option. Some other foods were definitely better but the experience itself says a lot.
I went to watch Ecuador v.s. Brazil today at this place. I decided to come here since this is one of the few places I knew that showed the game and had it advertised at the front of the window. We missed the first 5 minutes of the game, but I figured that it is no big deal. After all, I ordered food and a cubeta of drinks that the waitress recommended for my friend and I.The food, was great, I will not say anything bad about that (hence why I gave it 2 stars , but we got two drinks and 4 chips (like poker chips that you can redeem one for a drink. Whatever, waitress probably said it by force of habit, plus everyone else got these chips. When my friend and I finished our drinks, we redeemed 2 of these chips, the waitress came back with just one drink and scurried away quickly to assist other guests. I bought it to her attention when I got the chance, and she insisted that we only redeemed one chip. Simple mistake. But I didnt like the immediate accusation and lack of some sort of sense of misunderstanding. She gave us the check as if in a way to insinuate for us to leave. Either way, I checked the price and it was correct. I still gave a tip for that reason alone, and a good tip (above 15% .Later, we missed over 15 minutes of the game on our side of the table. Only one T.V. of the whole bar was broadcasting the game. I don 't understand why a place that would advertise such an event would take so long to provide such attraction. This caused everyone on our side of the bar (basically everyone present at the bar was there for the game to move to the side of the bar with the only T.V. that had the game on. I understand mistakes happen, but this was very careless of Don Ramon staff, especially during a pandemic, for people to be so close together because of their carelessness. We both (my friend and I stood away from the majority of the crowd to get a view of the T.V. with the game on. Not sure if it was the owner, but he came towards us asking us if we want to order something in a very confrontational voice. We said we are just watching the game since it is the only T.V. showing it. He abruptly told us to get out of his way since we were standing next to the register. We apologized and moved, but the tone and demeanor was uncalled for.I also own a business, and I understand mishaps happen, but the attitude of the staff was uncalled for. I went there to have a good time, relax, and watch a game. I expected good friendly service, not to be accused nor be expected make adjustments for a service they have advertised to provide. That will be the last time I will ever go to that restaurant. The chefs are great, but the waiting staff and management taint their talents. I hope to chefs move on to a better location.
