Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is located behind broadway in sydney well located, but a bit economical from looking away. they do everything in a hurry, the personal literally between tables that is a bit out of the brush, maybe they try to increase their customers. the water was delivered without request and menus arrived immediately. the location is good, the value is good, but also with the running waiters they have forgotten like servier spoons and eating tools. the food was good, but served spasmodic. we were 3 people and ordered 4 dishes, but they came apart for minutes. they tried hard, but took off the glamour that could have been a better experience.
Taste Legend is located in Quadrant Plaza, nestled among a cluster of apartment buildings, with a stunning water fountain feature at its center right on Broadway. We were hungry, so we decided to order six dishes to share. We started with a small vegetarian soup, simple and refreshing. The marinated pork was served cold and delicious, while the green beans with pork were tasty as expected. The barbecue dishes were also flavorful, but the pan-roasted pork and beans was disappointing as there was more dough than meat filling. The pork and chicken dumplings had an off balance of meat to dough ratio. In total, our bill came to $55.80, making this a budget-friendly Chinese comfort food spot. Despite the affordable prices, we probably won't be returning due to the disappointing dumplings. Additionally, the outdoor seating area was not recommended for anyone who is afraid of birds, as pigeons and seagulls frequently visit the fountain area. The interior seating area was also exposed to the outside, allowing birds to fly in and out of the restaurant, which was quite a scene.
We enjoyed this restaurant multiple times during our weeklong stay in Sydney. It is a bit tricky to locate as it is located on the ground floor of an apartment complex near Broadway. However, the food is delicious and reasonably priced by Sydney standards. We tried various dishes such as xiao long bao, pan roasted rolls, salty fish and chicken roasted rice, fried noodles, and more. We dined here three times and were impressed with the fast service and quality of the food.
I work in a building next to this restaurant and I usually order my dinner or lunch from here. Today, when I went to order dinner, I asked if I could order the hawn dish without rice. The waiter asked his father (the owner), who became very angry and scolded his son in front of me. I was shocked by his behavior as I had done nothing wrong, I was just asking a question. I apologized with a smile and tried to explain that it was just a simple inquiry. However, before I could finish speaking, the owner gave me a dirty look and walked away. I shared this experience with my colleagues who were also regular customers there, and we have decided not to return to this restaurant. We do not recommend dining here.
I used to visit Taste Legend quite often, because their dumplings were amazing. That was until a friend and I got incredibly sick after a lunch there. 7 months later, and I've only now ventured back. And I probably won't be back anytime soon. The...food has just gone downhill and lacks any sort of taste. The shallot pancakes were really oily and greasy, the duck noodles had a burnt taste to them and some noodles seemed charred, and the honey chicken was just really sickly, both from the sauce and the thick fried fat around the chicken. The only thing that still tasted great was the BBQ pork buns. It's such a shame, as it used to be a great little restaurant. Sure enough, as per my last visit, I started feeling quite queasy about 5 hours after the meal, and even though I wasn't sick to the extent I was last time, it's a sure sign that I won't be back anytime soon.
