Bidrage med feedbackThis is one of those places that surprise you, the outside is as unassuming as you can make it. If I had not been guided by a local, I was sure I would not have found it. Great lunch ambiance, interesting decor. Food is organized by 'plates ', the historical way of eating food that almost nobody follows anymore. And that 's is a sign of how things go around here. We ordered an assortment of local specialties... musseto, trippa, brovada, salami e acceto, and all hit the right notes. We also had a sort of de-constructed-tiramisu dessert that the kids enjoyed very much (no brandy, so good for all ages) If there is something to be said about food in this region of Italy is that food is not designed to appeal to the masses but to give you a hearty well filled stomach so that you dont need to eat much more that day or may even in 2 days. I can certainly confirm that we did not have anything else that day. In short, not food (nor prices) for those with weak stomachs, however it was fantastic, and worth every penny. We will certainly be back whenever we are around.
Typical Friuli trattoria serving local food, decorated in rustic style (the name means Old Stables . 4 appetisers 2 starters 2 mains 2 sweets 2 bottles of water 1.5 litres house wine 3 grappas 5 coffees €113. A few minutes ' walk from the central attractions. Easily-reachable by bus, and plenty of street parking, as it 's just off an internal ring road.
Recommended by friends in Udine we loved our lunch at this typical Friulian eaterie. The 'orzo and fagioli ' soup was as good as any and the gnocchi and ravioli too were excellent. Everything fresh, seasonal and home made. Table wine was good and the whole visit was superb value for money. Fascinating atmosphere and decor. Like 'la Ghiacciaia ' nearby it 's a 'must visit ' for anyone wanting unpretentious local cuisine
Tablecloths and walls all sorts of chincaglieria: the old stable maintains its mythical air and those who pass through hearing can not fail to try this friulana colorful tavern. to welcome it there will be the rustic management of the kind owners maurizio and mario and a handwritten menu and rich of typical dishes. the choice is always arduous: ciarçons or mignaculis cu le luaneghe? the frittata with polenta. and then triple, boiled, meatballs, salami with vinegar. all watered with the excellent red house. an absolute surprise the cup of stable as a sweet advisable to divide it into two . the digestive is always offered. only recommendation: the rush is enemy of the good table, so at the stable you go to eat calmly chiaccherando with friends.
I ate in several restaurants of siracuse, but definitely this is what I liked most. the interior is small, but it creates a very cozy atmosphere. the owner makes you feel at home and has a lot of empathy. not least fish dishes, revisited and cooked with care, average prices, recommended!
