Bidrage med feedbackOne of the oldest best place for authentic South Indian tasty food. Located in heart of Udaipur. Hygiene is maintained. Infrastructure is little bit older. Taste, quality quantity compromises every other lackings. Staff is also well trained. Prices are average. Parking for two wheeler is easy to find rather than car.
Purohit cafe is one of the oldest restaurants serving south Indian cuisine in udaipur. In fact I first tasted south Indian dishes here only when I was little. They are serving constant taste and quality since years. Their service is also pretty fast. They serve various types of dosa, idli, vada, uttapams, coffee, dahi vada, chaat items and chhole bhature. This time we had a plate of dahi vada, fried idli and veg rava masala dosa. If you like your dosa crisp then you can ask to keep masala aside like I did. All the south Indian dishes are served with unlimited sambhar, nariyal chutney, green chutney and tomato chutney that I love the most. Here fried idli doesn't mean tava fried idli pieces along with masalas and veggies. They deep fry idli pieces until they are crispy from outside. If you like south Indian dishes then do give purohit cafe a try, they do not operate on fridays so keep that in mind while planning your lunch or dinner here. It is very famous thus you won't have any trouble finding it. It is inside Anand plaza which is opposite Raajwada restaurant. Don’t go for the ambience. But the food is just awesome. If you like rawa dosa go for it. It will be one of the best you ever had. One of the small but delicious South Indian food service restaurant in Udaipur. Closed on Monday
The place is an old and famous one for south Indian food in Udaipur. The sambhar was great, coconut chutney needs little improvement, tomato one was good. The Dosas could be crispier. Normal dosa texture was not that great, though rawa one was better. Overall its a good place in the city to have Dosa. The waiting management on the weekends is bad, the waiting time on weekends is around an hour. People break waiting queues by hook or by crook which is highly disappointing.
A restaurant which serves only South Indian and a few chats. The service is excellent. They have put in great effort to prepare authentic south Indian dishes. The best part for me was the guy serving Sambar and chutneys all the time. All in all its not as good as what you get in south India but still very good.
