I enjoyed myself at this restaurant. The staff was super attentive even when there was a language barrier. They had no menu with English or pictures, but Hey! There 's Google Translate! Just remember to install the Thai fonts too for them to communicate back to you. I asked the guy to recommend some Issan dishes as I wanted to try something different, but asked him to have them less spicy. As a guide, I suggested 1 pork dish and 1 shrimp/fish dish. However, after asking the cook, they didn 't have Issan dishes with shrimp or fish, so I asked him to just pick a shrimp dish. Somewhere along the way, the guy forgot to ask the cook to make it less spicy for me. I enjoyed the food, but it was just too spicy for me to finish even after downing 2 bottles of sprite with ice. The guy was quite apologetic another lady came by and I think offered to replace the pork dish with one less spicy, but I was already quite full ... probably with the drinks, so I declined. The atmosphere was pretty good until the water flies came along. I had to pick them off my food once in a while or brush them off myself, but I guess that 's what you get with open air dining by the riverside in the evening. Still I enjoyed the view and ambiance. All in all, I 'd still come back as the staff wore a constant smile on their faces while serving. the food was good, even though I 've no idea what they were called. A raw shrimp salad; and very spicy minced pork with herbs and spices (think they said larb). I probably should had reminded the guy less spicy each time he came out to communicate after talking with the chef.
