Bidrage med feedbackI took two of my lady friends here for lunch. They had never been to The Grove before. It was delightful. The food was great, the service was wonderful. They said they couldn't wait to come back for dinner, especially when it was a bit cooler with music outside.
The noise level is too high. You can't have a normal conversation at the table. You have to speak elevated to be heard. The food was somewhat bland for my taste. I ordered the brisket tacos, and my wife ordered eggs benedict. The brisket was baked, but adequately tender. My wife ordered her eggs medium cooked yolks, but she received runny yolks. Our waiter wasn't attentive to the table. Twenty minutes went by and he did not come to the table to check on food or drinks. I will not choose this place for Sunday brunch again.
What an amazing, calm, and beautiful experience. Food is absolutely delicious. Higher end on price… but the taste is to savor and appreciate with great music on outside patio…. Would definitely come back.
My husband treated me and a couple of friends to brunch at the Grove for my birthday. Our food and server were great, but for some reason our reservation was in someone else's name which was confusing when checking in. I even made the reservation myself online using my own name so I have no idea how it happened. That person's name was even written on the box for my birthday cake sitting on my counter now and is displayed in this review. I am not “Ron.” It was a strange mistake but yet has made my birthday experience a little awkward. Another awkward moment concerned our guest's 10-year-old daughter who was dressed in church attire and was completely poised, graceful and quiet. She was referred to as a “kid” several times. I even felt the need to correct the hostess the second time gently by calling her “a young lady” because I could see that it made her feel diminished by being called a “kid” loudly and being given a crayon with her kid's menu. I feel the hostesses should have a little more grace and charm indicative of an upscale restaurant. Additionally, my husband likes a custom-made margarita which he regularly gets at other restaurants for $12-20. At the Grove we were charged $46 for each of the margaritas. When I checked the bill upon returning home, I discovered this because my husband is not going to make a fuss at the restaurant on my birthday. I was shocked. Besides that, I was asked, since it was my birthday, would I like a certain cocktail that I had never heard of. It sounded delicious, so I said yes, thinking it was complementary by the way it was presented to me. I had only asked for water. Upon checking the bill, I saw that we were charged for my cocktail. I won't make complain about it because it was very delicious and enjoyable, but it was surprising. On Monday, I left a message on The Grove's answering machine requesting a manager to call me concerning a few issues. That's been 48 hours now, and I still haven't heard from anyone.
We loved our evening. The food was perfect, service was great, and the churros were ridiculously delicious. Our only complaint would be the noise level where we were seated. We were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and it was a little loud. Thanks for a great night!
