Bidrage med feedbackThe food here used to be amazing back when it was at their old location in the little building. But now, the quality has gone done for the price your paying. We bought the brisket nachos and 10 wings from them last night. The nacho cheese was cold and congealed together ???? the brisket meat was cold and very hard to chew. Now the wings, no flavor at all. We ordered 5 Buffalo and 5 Parmesan garlic. The Buffalo tasted like it was just tossed in tabasco sauce and the Parmesan garlic tasted heavily of salt, no Parmesan or garlic flavor at all. We were giving it another try after the last 3 times of giving them another try over the past 4 months. The quality or care for their food just isn?t there anymore.
I 've been eyeing the pulled pork sandwich ever since we got here (moved in March from WA). Every time I 'm ready to eat, they 've run out. Pulled pork is the only BBQ my stomach can handle. Well, today 's the magic day, because my son swung by after work to pick us up two pulled pork sandwiches, his with potato salad side and mine with the creamiest mac 'n cheese ever. The pulled pork is so unbelievably tender with a hint of gentle smoke. Soft as a pillow! I only wish I got a little more of the sauce and a little more salt. Otherwise, perfection. Don 't sleep on the sides, especially mashed potatoes gravy.
I've had GREAT BBQ. I lived in Louisville, KY, and have family in KC, where we visit frequently and have awesome BBQ. Smokey Bone is good...not great. The ribs were well-seasoned, but overdone...they were crunchy. The fried pickles were too salty, but were still good. The Brisket was AWESOME...well-seasoned and juicy. Best thing on the menu for sure. Price-point...too high. But what can I say? Biden's America is driving every price up too high. I'd be happy to pay for dinner there every once in a while and look forward to paying different prices when we have a different prez.
The service was awful and incredibly off putting by how rude and careless they were. I would not return for this reason alone. The price for the 2 meat/2 side platter is definitely overpriced and the quality and amount is not worth $30 (the sides are all low cost and small, if should not cost that much). The coleslaw, fries, fry sauce, cornbread were all good sides. The sliced bread was pointless, not even toasted. The Mac and cheese was not good I took one bite and didn’t want the rest. Not enough BBQ sauce and I wish there were different sauce options included. The brisket was really good, tender and had a great crispy outside. The pork was good, had a nice crisp outside but was a bit dry.
I have eaten here several times and it is very hit or miss on the quality. I have not had great BBQ here but once the brisket was fairly decent, it’s just usually a little dry. The last time I ate here the brisket was so bad we had to throw half of it away because it was hard as a rock. In this image I added, those pieces are rock solid and had to be thrown away and almost every piece was the same way. I assume that this place only stays in business with this kind of BBQ because there just aren’t many options in town.
