Golden Restaurant - Twillingate

This place serves the worst food ever. Do not waste your time and money. Had soup was edible, the egg rolls terrible, Hawaii oh is shrimp scallops, chicken with vegetables the sauce was so sweet we could not eat it. We payed for...slop. Two other people left at the same time we did and commented it was the worse food they ever had and we agree.

We were so happy to find a place where we could find Asian food. But the experience was disappointing. The room is dark, everything was somewhat dirty. The spicy shrimp curry was essentially vegetables with very few shrimps added for As we were two...and ordered also two steamed rice, we ended up with a bill of which we found too high for the quality and quantity offered.

A drive past this place tells you pretty much all you need to know. If, despite the external appearance, you venture inside then you can expect a meal consisting of poor food badly cooked, condescendingly served in slovenly conditions. We thought it would be too...much to ask for moderately decent Chinese food in Twillingate and it was. We did tick scenic view but it would be only if they cleaned the windows. .

Staff here is extremely unaccomodating and unpleasant they don't really care if you come or go it seems like.. Food is mediocre-poor and priced average for the area. Save your money and sanity and eat somewhere else.

The food is okay but doesn't feel genuinely chinese if you know what I mean. I found management and the waiters were rather rude and didn't really care too much about their customers. Pricing of the food was average and it took a while to...get served. I usually don't mind that in the event that there are lots of people in the restaurant, it's understandable but when I was there, there were only a few people in the restaurant and they already had their meals and it still took longer than usual for my meal to be prepared. It isn't horrible, though. It's the only chinese restaurant I've heard of in the area, which generally means their service doesn't have to be great and people that love chinese food have no choice but to eat there when they want to go to a chinese restaurant. I've seen worse, though. In the end, don't expect too much and you should enjoy your meal at Golden Restaurant.
